Free Alternative Software

Some pieces of popular software are really expensive, really annoying, or both. Here are some alternatives that are free and work well from my experience.

Quicktime Alternative - Use quicktime files without that annoying Quicktime program.

Realplayer Alternative - Use realplayer files without that annoying Realplayer program.

GIMP - A Photoshop alternative that's completely free, but still very powerful

Foxit - Read Acrobat reader files without the risk or annoyance of Acrobat

CDBurner XP - A quick, simple, and free cd burning utility for XP (but works in Vista and 7 as well).

Giant Freeware Listing - Be careful to search before downloading or installing any of these, but this is a great resource to find neat free software.
