French Branch of Scientology to Be Sued for Organized Fraud

(Image used under: Creative Commons 3.0 [SRC])

Now if the lawsuits would propagate throughout the world, we'd finally be getting somewhere. From the article:

In his order, the judge found that the church had used "personality tests void of scientific value...with the sole aim of selling services or divers products."

Youtube Champions Scientology Over Anonymous

(Image used under: Fair Use doctrine)

Anonymous posts anti-scientology videos on Youtube. They get canceled. They start a new account in order to try again and perhaps not get canceled this time. They get canceled.

Apparently Youtube policy is that if you've been banned, you get no second chances. Any new account you create will be destroyed…. Unless you're paying money as in the case of the Cult of Scientology.

And yet Scientology is back on YouTube. This time, it's paying for the account. It's also paying for ads on the site, looking to drive some traffic onto its new channel. "Get the facts," the ads say.

More Scientology Documents Leaked

The last thing this cult wants is more exposure into their secret operating documents. Go Wikileaks!

Wikileaks Retaliates Against Scientology Threats

(Image used under: Creative Commons 3.0 [SRC])
Wikinews has learned that The Church of Scientology has warned the documents leaking site Wikileaks.org that they are in violation of United States copyright laws after they published several documents related to the Church. Wikileaks has no intentions of complying, and states that in response, they intend to publish thousands of Scientology documents next week.

Good for them! It's heartening to see that now that one well publicized organization has stood up to their bully tactics, others are following.

Scientology Fights Back, Plants Fake Evidence?

(Image used under: Creative Commons 3.0 [SRC])

Digg users are reporting that the "Church of $cientology" has posted a response website to the continued on and offline harrassment by the group calling themselves "Anonymous". However, the poster of this article points out that the "death threat" video on the Scientology server is actually better quality that the one on Youtube.

If this is true, it means that Scientology has the original copy of the video and they either:

1) Received the video through some other means and posted it to Youtube themselves to publicize it.

2) They created the video and are trying dirty tactics to discredit Anonymous

I can believe both theories. I wouldn't put it past Scientology to do something like that, but I also wouldn't be surprised if someone sent them a real death threat. First, others have done far fewer terrible things to get death threats and also the "group" called Anonymous isn't really a group. It's anyone and everyone who feels that the Co$ is bad and wishes to join the movement against them.

That means any crackpot could call themselves Anonymous. Even someone willing to make death threats (which would be the exact worst thing to do).

Science vs Scientology Timeline

(Image used under: Creative Commons 3.0 [SRC])

A timeline comparing the beliefs of Scientology versus actual science. And also this:

Science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard's most notorious space opera is the religion of Scientology, which is packed with aliens and space battles and waves of invaders to our solar system.

Scientology Gets More Bad Press

(Image used under: Creative Commons 3.0 [SRC])

Just spreading the news. But I was also very troubled by this:

"People have been scared out of their minds to speak out about Scientology," said Hill, Miscavige's niece, in an interview. "Nobody should have to be that scared to speak out about a church." Wiseman echoed the sentiment, adding that the Anonymous campaign had influenced her decision to reveal her identity last week. "The Internet is listening. If something happens to me, all of these people will know."

Scientology Given Free Reign on Ebay

(Image used under: Creative Commons 3.0 [SRC])

For some reason, eBay has given the cult of Scientology free access to their servers so they can delete auctions that would have allowed people to get emeters for less money. Of course, the reason for the cult to want to do this is very clear (money), but why eBay would cooperate with them is another matter entirely.

Scientology Protests

(Image used under: Creative Commons 3.0 [SRC])

Just wanted to cover some recent protests against the cult of Scientology.

Note that the article references one of my recommended movies, "V for Vendetta", which was an excellent movie about resisting an oppressive totalitarian government.
